When you’re done, you can save it as a blueprint and use it all over your park, or upload it to the Steam workshop so others can use it too. Everything is available to make a very creative building. If you want to take a fence, rotate it, and make it a decorative banner then go for it. Dont’ be afraid to experiment, you can literally use any of the building materials you want, regardless of what they are. There are also many detail options like gutters, signs, and building additions. You can put on a roof, which should auto connect to the top of a wall. Z lets you rotate the wall so that it is facing the direction you want. In the Facilities menu, you can get default basic block shops or staff buildings. We are going to use a shop for this tutorial. So when you start building, you usually start with one piece. Planet Coaster tutorials can be used to learn the building / construction mechanicsīuilding can take some getting used to, but luckily there are a lot of tutorials out there to get the hang of it (Even if they are Planet Coaster ones!) But I’ll try to break down the basics here for you.Press Z to rotate walls and other items while editing a custom building.Press R to edit a group of objects / blueprint item.I've still tried to make every habitat interesting and unique, but keeping to basic materials, plants and decorations. Nothing is super expensive - I've avoided heavy decoration to keep in-game costs of these habitats down. Check out my video tutorial for more help with this.Ĥ. ![]() You can then click outside of the habitat to place it in that position and delete the signs. With the advanced move tool, sink the habitat down until the 'hide me' sign disappears and the 'see me' sign is still visible. To help with this, I've left markers inside the habitats to get them flush with the ground ('see me' and 'hide me' signs). You need to use the move tool (press x as soon as you click on the blueprint to place) to sink it back down to the correct position. All habitats are rectangular for easier placement in game - Please note - every habitat blueprint in Planet Zoo automatically loads into the game 'floating in the air'. I've kept enrichment items in images for purposes of showing where they can sit, but removed before uploading to Steam so those who haven't researched them can still use the habitat, and you can choose when/how you add enrichment yourself.ģ. You may need to research barrier types as majority are made from the wood, concrete, wire mesh or glass barrier types.Īll enrichment items need to be added manually. The habitats also only use base game 'Planet Zoo theme' pieces, so you can download and use straight away without having to research building set themes. These habitats don't use any DLC - you don't need any DLC packs to download and use these enclosures (except for ones that are made for specific DLC animals - you may need the relevant DLC for those). I've taken liberties with this where the game says it can house massive amounts (like the 500 penguins and flamingos)!Ģ. Sizes have been optimised to fit (in most cases) the maximum number of animals the game recommends be housed together. There's no wasted space, or sprawling gigantic pens. Each habitat is optimised to meet all animal needs - every habitat meets all requirements for the number of animals to be housed (volumes of flora & fauna, water, terrain paint, hard shelter, barrier strength/height and climb-proofing if required). ![]() I've designed these habitats for beginner players, meaning that:ġ. ![]() About the Starter Habitat Series The Starter Habitat Series is a set of basic enclosures for every animal in the game.
